Job Description
A position for a permanent Healthcare/Clinical Scientist who is HCPC registered (or about to be registered) is currently available in Sheffield Diagnostic Genetics Service (SDGS).
You can also apply if you are a final year STP trainee or a registered clinical scientist from different STP fields.
This job opening is within Oncology and Rare Disease Services.
The positions are interchangeable between the laboratory’s services.
The post holders will have the chance to acquire information, skills, and other credentials that are very valuable, like the FRCPath via HSST, and so on.
To rotate among a number of major services or heavy workload.
To daily oversee employees within the group.
To be in charge of a position within the department, like management of a CPA component, quality control, Sendaways, or EQA, for instance.
The ideal candidate should have the necessary HCPC registration (or be almost finished with STP training), be willing to learn in new fields, have strong interpersonal skills, and be a positive team player.

The North East and Yorkshire Genomic Laboratory Hub (NEY GLH) was created as a result of a thrilling partnership between Newcastle Teaching Hospitals, Leeds Teaching Hospitals, Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, and NewGene, to offer genomic services to the North East, Yorkshire, and Humber.
The Trusts provide a variety of general and specialist hospital services with expertise in specialist treatment, research, and relevant education, making this the biggest partnership in the nation based on the total area of our region.
